KC's First Children's Book Illustration

Life got so busy with work and stuff. I have an announcement to make, KC's book is out. For those of you that are interested of seeing how our KC did with this book, please check it out at http://www.amazon.com/kindle/dp/B0085SCPH0/ref=rdr_kindle_ext_eos_detail. This book is been done for a month now.
I would like to share some video of KC drawing, this is done last month. We took him to the Art Museum in Salt Lake and they have this tablet where you can draw. Just see how he draws, we're pretty impressed when he draw something. Anyway, hope the video works.

5 Little Ducks

While we're waiting for the book to get done and published, I decided to look for videos today and found a cute one of KC. He was 3 years old and 2 months in this video. This is what we do at my office after work while waiting for KC's Dad. I thought it might be cute to see him doing something else beside painting or drawing, though I haven't upload any of his video while he's painting or drawing.

I was sitting on the other side of my desk, I had grooveshark open and have KC's song folder in it. He sings along with the songs he chose. He is such a cute child in his own way. His family is really proud of him, He is talented and smart. Surprisingly he figure things out on his own, he doesn't need us to teach him step by step. If his dad thinks he might like something, he shows him once and then he'll create things on his own.

KC's Children's book.

KC just turn 5 yrs old couple weeks ago. Him and his Dad like I said last week, are currently working on this book called "How Birds Got Their Color (a Japanese folk tale)" Nui (kc's dad) did the painting, the story and the birds. Everything else is KC (the background)  This picture here is the book cover,  we still need to fix the spelling :)

Here's a couple page of the book
This should be published sometime next month as a e-book. It took a little bit longer to be done than we thought because we have to wait for KC to be in the right mood to draw the backgrounds for this book. He always tells us that he's busy painting if he doesn't wanna draw.

Drip Painting

KC's Dad Introduced him to Jackson Pollock's style of drip painting when was 3 years old. One night while his dad was painting KC found a bunch of old latex paint. When his dad turned around there were two drip paintings sitting on the floor. Good thing most of the paint ended up on the boards. The first two pictures are KC's first drip paintings.  He drip paints when he's tired of drawing. He chooses his own colors. He usually says "This one is a Dragon Painting, or this one is a Butterfly Painting.  He's using sample latex from Home Depot. He knows what he needs, and along with the paint he'll buy brushes. Believe me I didn't have any idea what he was doing until he showed me and explained every step of his process.

We are so proud of our little boy and his talent. Him and his dad is working on a children's book called How Birds Got their Colors. I'll be posting some of the progress work from the book next week.

Movie Picture

KC started holding a pen when he was 7 months old. He began helping his Dad gesso his boards when he was 8 months old. We let him explore with paints at the age of 1. He likes to paint on about anything, paper, canvas or the computer. Which ever is closer. Sometimes he even paints the computer. We're working on that.

These are between 8 months and 2 years old-- his drawing is getting better. That's when we decide that it might be his talent. His first figure was a smiley face, a sun, a sun with a smiley face, and a fish with a smiley face. Then he starts drawing smileys with hair and ears and finally adds chicken legs and chicken hands.  Next comes monsters and dragons, then dogs and birds. He likes to draw whatever he wants to based on the movie he is watching. The first picture is from Wubbzy kids show, he name it wuzzle bee. He draw this before his  three years old. And the rest is when he's Three. The second one is from Tangled. The third picture is just from one of his creation he made from the figure his Dad bought him .He design it himself and draw them.

KC's never stoped drawing from the day he learn how to hold the pencil until now.

This is KC Silva, artist. Yes, a 4 year old can be an artist. He's been always making something, he helps his Dad gesso his boards before painting on them when he was 8 months old. He likes to help his dad make messes and creating things. Here's an example. I put a long time ago when he's 14 months old http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh8zbuMfJ4c&feature=related.

KC is still a kid and wants to do this and that, but we let him do his own thing his own way, when he wants to do painting or when he wants to draw. We'll he's actually constantly drawing he can use 1 ream of white paper in... not even a day, but we don't care. A child like his age has a lot of imagination, He has a huge imagination. We are so proud of him on what he became. His dad is an artist and he's not thrilled that KC claims himself an artist but through art and design you can see true beauty of things.
